CECILIA MARQUEZ
Destination Sales Executive

Cecilia Marquez has been a staff member of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce Convention and Tourism Department for the past 26 years. She moved to Albuquerque in 1982 from a small town west of Albuquerque and has lived here ever since. When she first moved here, she attended TVI (now CNM), and took Auto Mechanics, and then after that, Office Occupations.
Cecilia is a native New Mexican, and very proud of that! New Mexico was, is, and will always be, her home. Cecilia has many jobs from A-Z (Director to Services) here at the Hispano Chamber, and is proud to say she does each and every job with all her heart. Cecilia loves Albuquerque and New Mexico, so promoting Albuquerque as a convention, event or tourism destination comes easily to her.

MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT ALBUQUERQUE
I love mornings before the sun comes up – the sunrises in Albuquerque and New Mexico are beyond beautiful! There’s a chill in the air and the birds are singing, it’s quiet and peaceful. What a way to start your day. Also, our Albuquerque sunsets are the most amazing in the world. The cumulus clouds in our striking blue skies at sunset are magical displays of bright colors of burnt orange and red; they too are a site to see! What better way to end your day.

Whenever I travel outside of New Mexico I always get my chili fix prior to leaving, and always look forward to coming home for New Mexican food. There’s nothing better than a hot bowl of pinto beans with green chili and a warm flour tortilla to welcome you home.
